Medical Services: At Paw
Prints Animal Hospital, our focus is on accurate diagnosis and
appropriate treatment. We regularly attend continuing
education conferences as well as have access to on-line databases
in order to keep up with the latest diagnostics and treatments
available. We maintain open communication with a variety of
specialists that we consult with on a regular basis, and refer to
specialty centers for complex cases.
Vaccinations: Our vaccine protocols are
individualized for each patient based on risk, lifestyle, and the
overall health of the pet. A comprehensive physical
examination is performed prior to any vaccines given, and a
thorough medical history and risk assessment will be taken.
To pets with minimal risk, we offer 3-year distemper, leukemia, and
rabies vaccines. Lyme and bordetella (kennel cough) must
still be given annually. Ask about our custom vaccine
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest
available anesthetics tailored to the individual needs of your pet
to provide that extra margin of safety, especially for our older or
high risk patients. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's
vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.
IV catheters and fluids are used on all patients to maintain
hydration and blood pressure, as well as provide venous access in
the event of an emergency. Each anethetic event is monitored
by a technician, and anesthesia is adjusted accordingly.
Laboratory: Our in-house laboratory
facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology,
urinalysis and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial
veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and
consultations. In an emergency, quick test results mean we
can institute appropriate treatment much more quickly.
Pharmacy: We maintain a complete
inventory of pharmaceuticals to meet the needs of your pet.
All items we carry have been used on our own pets and we recommend
them without hesitation. We also use a licensed pharmacy for
compounding medications in various forms, and medications are
shipped right to your door.
Dentistry: Our dental services
include teeth cleaning and polishing, treatment of periodontal
disease, pocket probing, and fluoride application. We also
perform tooth extractions and oral surgery as needed, and refer to
a veterinary dentist for advanced dental care such as root canals
and oral tumors.
Dog Fence Reviews: We are certified experts when it comes to using and training a dog on an electric fence.
Allow us to give you our own personal recommendations before buying from sites like flexpetz.com.
Dietary Counseling: We will provide
guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life
stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight
maintenance and performance, as well as medical conditions.
Behavioral Counseling: We can
provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as
excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house
soiling and aggression. We also work with a behavior
consultant for more difficult cases.
